Hello Old Friend

Yesterday, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror — something I have tried to avoid doing for the last four months whenever possible.  Much to my surprise, I noticed my waist. It was back.

Gone but not forgotten, I was glad to see a hint of my former pre-pregnancy self making an appearance.  It gave me hope that perhaps maybe this kettlebell workout regime is actually doing something and that I have a chance to once again fit into my skinny jeans … eventually.

With my first baby, it took a solid seven months before I returned to my goal weight. The pounds came off faster with my second child for some unexplained reason.  I don’t recall when I actually hit my goal weight with him, but I do know that I was able to pour my legs into my designer jeans for a girls night out with my sorority sisters when he was 9 weeks old. Sure, I had to hide the muffin top flopping over the waistband but by God, I was in them!

This year, I’d like to slim down in time for a wedding I am attending in April.  It’s in Hilton Head and warm weather clothes with dimpled knees is not a good look for me.  A C-section scar in a bathing suit isn’t so hot either but what’s a girl to do?

We shall see. At least it provides an extra incentive!

About Bizemom

I am a busy working mom (get it... "biz e-mom"?) of two adorable children. I have a white-collar day job, I have a night job as a mom and an "in between" job as a freelance writer and blogger. What can I say, I am a glutton for punishment and I don't go to bed until 1 a.m. No matter how much I complain, I like being busy. That must be the Sagitarius in me--we get bored easily. Now on to the next adventure (uh, I mean.. venture!)
